LG Launches World's First 4K OLED TVs In India

You will be getting 3D Glasses bundled with the television to enjoy the 3D technology.

LG Electronics has launched world's first 4K OLED TVs in India on Tuesday in two variants.

While the 55 inch variant will be available at Rs 3,84,900, the 65 inch model comes at Rs 5,79,900 at select LG outlets across India.

Both the models come with similar features and are powered by webOS smart TV platform which was announced at the CES earlier this year.

Moving on, the features of the new 4K OLED TVs are Perfect Curve, Perfect Colour, Sound by Harman Kardon, Magic Remote with Pointed and Universal Control, in-built WiFi, Mirocast Support, MHL Compatibility and Intel WiDi support.

Along with this, the new TVs also come with proprietary WRGB technology that boasts 33 million colour sub-pixels which is approximately 27 million more than a conventional full HD TV. This is the technology which actually helps in the output of better colour and contrast ratio and deeper blacks.

The new 4K OLED TVs also have a maximum response time of 0.001 ms which is said to be 1000 times more than conventional LCD TVs. This facilitates in a blur free viewing.

Apart from this, the new TVs come with a transparent stand which adds to the look of the television.

While this definitely is an innovative technology, we see this to come targeted mainly at the people in cosmopolitan cities in India.

However, the new 4K OLED TVs may take on Samsung's SUHD Curved TV models that were launched in India in June this year. Also, this might prove to be a strong competitor against Sony's BRAVIA range of Android TV lineup which was launched in India last month.
