Former HTC And Google Employees Prepping To Launch Nextbit Phone

Priced between $300 to $400, the handset will compete with OnePlus 2.

Nextbit is all set to unveil its smartphone in September. Wondering why should anyone care about another handset maker in this already crowded market? Well, for starters, Nextbit is run by ex-employees from Google and HTC.

Tom Moss, who was a part of the core Android team before joining Nextbit claims that their phone is going to be "friggin' awesome". In an interview given to CNET, a company official stated that the device will be priced between $300 to $400. At this price tag, expect it to take on OnePlus' offerings.

What interests me more is the involvement of Scott Croyle in this project. For those not in the know, he is responsible for designing the sleek HTC One.

Nextbit states that its phone will get better with future software updates. Well, that's a big promise considering that most Android smartphones run sluggish on new software. The company will add its flavour to the Android operating system. However, it has made it clear that the customisation would not be as radical like Amazon's forked version of Android.

Excited already, well wait till 1st of September, when the handset is expected to go official.
