Yu Launches Yureka Plus With Better Screen Resolution

Recent video teasers exhibit the sturdiness offered by the combination of polycarbonate shell, reinforced casing and the Gorilla Glass 3.

Micromax sub brand Yu has launched its new smartphone Yureka Plus after coming up with a couple of video teasers hinting at the sturdiness of the smartphone.

Yureka Plus is now available exclusively on Amazon.in e-commerce website with registrations open for the flash sale on July 24 at 12 Noon.

The launch of the Yureka Plus comes in sync with its recent announcement in its official forum saying that "The God Shall Return".  The announcement prompted people to speculate that the company might re-introduce the old phablet in the market which has been discontinued since the launch of the Yuphoria. However, instead of the old phablet, the company has finally launched its successor.

Speaking about the video teasers, two videos which are titled as "The YU Experiment" shows a smartphone undergoing a mixer grinder test and the a drop test.

Also, Just before the launch, the company came up with a drop test video that shows Rahul Sharma (founder of YU) trying to break the phone by tossing it in different angles and heights. Again, the whole purpose of the video is to exhibit the sturdiness offered by the combination of polycarbonate shell, reinforced casing and the Gorilla Glass 3.

Comparing the Yureka Plus to its predecessor, the big change is the screen resolution which is now a 5.5 inch screen with full HD resolution while earlier, it was a 5.5 inch HD screen resolution.

Other than the screen resolution, Yu Yureka Plus is essentially the same phone as the Yu Yureka. The smartphone has a Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16 GB storage space with a 13 mp rear camera and and 5 megapixel front camera. The battery is 2500 mAh battery.

The launch of the Yureka Plus might take the fight right up to Lenovo's doorstep proving a fierce competition to the recently launched Lenovo K3 Note.

To recall, just when Lenovo was enjoying the sales of its A6000 Plus, Yu launched Yuphoria with similar specifications and better looks at Rs 500 less than what Lenovo was charging.
