Apple Betting Big On Upcoming iPhones
Company places massive orders for the upcoming version of the iPhone.
The stunning success of Apple’s biggest quarter and of course the iPhone 6 seems to have convinced the company to take bigger risks. The Cupertino giant according to the WSJ has placed a massive order for its upcoming versions of the iPhone, the iPhone 6s.
This order would be in the range of 85-90 million units, a substantial leap considering that Apple has stuck with smaller production runs in the past. Again, Apple needs these units to be delivered by the end of this year, so expectations are high indeed.
Suppliers and manufacturers will be gearing up, but considering they work with Apple, they are already used to the company’s haste and last minute changes. So this is probably not much of a deal, just a bigger and better one (monetarily).
Similar to the iPhone 6 series, rumours currently point to Apple building two iPhones to be unveiled this September. These shall include the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus (if the rumours are correct) that are expected to feature Force Touch, 2 GB of RAM and upgraded 12 MP camera units.
