Facebook Lite Can Now Be Downloaded In India
Less than 1 MB in size, the app comes with a lot of promises.
Facebook Lite is finally here and can now be downloaded from Google’s Play Store. The app comes with a lot of promises and delivers limited Facebook functionality in a tiny package; one that is optimised for regions that have limited access to data.
The app was announced less than a month ago and is today available for download in India and the Philippines.
Clearly, the objective behind creating the app is to bring Facebook access to the masses. So it has been optimised to work with 2G networks and areas with unstable connections.
Moreover, Facebook makes it pretty clear at the bottom, that the app does not deliver the complete Facebook experience. This it does so by mentioning “For the full Facebook app, install Facebook for Android: http://bit.ly/18exgL6”.
So for those of you who will complain about limited features or the video streaming functionality not working, you need to be on the Full Facebook app for all of that.
