Fujitsu’s Arrows NX Is All About Firsts
Powered by Android, the device also comes with some rather interesting hardware bits.
Fujitsu’s Arrows NX F-04G is certainly not new, and was unveiled back in May for the Japanese market. But now we have a few more details about it that make it unique compared to the rest of the Android flagships out there.
Iris recognition was indeed the headlining feature for the Fujitsu Arrows NX. The feature is similar to Google’s Face recognition but allows the owner to unlock the smartphone thanks to its Iris Passport software with a mere 0.6-second glance.
In addition to the above, the Arrows NX also let users unlock and even make payments when paired with the password manager; but this is limited to partnered websites only. Still then, we are pretty sure the Iris recognition software would play well with Android M when it gets announced later this year.
Another interesting feature about the Fujitsu Arrows NX is indeed the Transfer Jet. Similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3’s S Beam (which used Wi-Fi after the initial NFC handshake) Transfer Jet allows for high-speed file sharing between Arrows NX devices. This is fast, really fast. Think in the range of 375 Mbps per second!
Firsts aside, the device sports flagship hardware and we already know that the device is prone to overheating similar to the Sony Xperia Z4.
- We get a 5.2 inch 2560 x 1440 pixels IPS display
- An octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset inside with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage
- There is a 21 MP Exmor RS camera on the back that will soon become the standard for Android flagships
- Powering it all is a 3120 mAh battery with Android 5.0 Lollipop running inside
As of now the device has was launched on Japan’s NTT Docomo but we have no news about a global release of the smartphone yet.
