Android One Smartphones Finally Receive Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update

The update for Android One smartphones are available now in India with other countries expecting to receive soon.

Google has finally decided to roll out its Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to those smartphones under the Android One concept.

The Internet giant seems to be on a pressure nowadays after it has announced the arrival of its latest Android M operating system in the third quarter of 2015.

Adding to this, Google definitely doesn't want its Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to miss seeing the light of the day in most Android smartphones in the world.

However, as we may expect, Google Nexus devices were among the first ones to receive the 5.1.1 Lollipop update which was announced recently.

It is also worth noting that Android One smartphones have started receiving the update and the variants of the handsets that are now getting the firmware update over the air (OTA) are the Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream Uno Mi-498, and Karbonn Sparkle V.

But, for now, only the Android One smartphones in India are receiving the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware update and it is expected that the company might roll out the update pretty soon in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines and Sri Lanka.

However, coming to the update, the file size is nearly about 11.8 MB for all the three handsets and it is expected to bring forth performance improvements and overall OS stability.
