Google Outs New Gmail For Android Update Based On User Reviews
Delivers a "smoother experience".
Google has updated its Gmail app for the Android platform. The new update is based on comments from user reviews and according to Google, seems to be the beginning of the way things are going to work henceforth.
The new update will deliver one new feature and one improvement, apart from the regular bug-fixes.
The first one is related to the UI of the default Gmail app and lets you do more by tapping on the avatars.
“Tapping on people’s avatars now lets you see recent conversations, contact info, and more.”
Since Gmail addresses are linked to your Google+ profile by default, tapping on a contact avatar within a conversation will now show you all those connections. This includes Google+ photos uploaded, documents shared across mails, profile details (good for businesses) and even recent locations (provided all of this is public or your contact is your friend on Google+) in the form of a contact card.
The second update is an improvement of an existing function where Google seems to be cleaning up its purposeless UI elements.
According to the post, it delivers a smoother experience by providing better support for non-Gmail addresses (IMAP). Also adding new non-Gmail accounts is now a lot easier to set-up.
The update as always will begin rolling out gradually, but you can grab the .apk file from the Via link below.
