Zomato Steps Into Online Food Ordering With Its New App 'Zomato Order'
The application is said to be interlinked with the Zomato's original restaurant finder app.
Popular restaurant search and discovery app Zomato seems to have finally thought of venturing into food delivery.
Though the move seems to be a delayed by the company, the company has unbundled its main app and has come up with a separate app known as Zomato Order.
The new app which is dedicated to ordering food online is said to be available for now to download in Google Play Store and the iOS App Store.
According to the official blog post, the company has clearly mentioned that the purpose of not including the online food ordering into the same app was to keep the apps light weight and better user experience.
Also, according to the company, both the apps will be inter linked to each other and a single tap on the restaurant finder app will take you to that restaurant on the Order app and you can proceed to add items to your cart. Once done, a single tap will take you back to the restaurant finder app.
However, for a smartphone user especially those with entry level and mid-range devices, this seems to be a little cumbersome as two apps mean additional downloading.

Yet, the company believes it to be an one-time effort by the users and also since the apps are very light weight in size, they might not be a problem, explains an official blog post on Zomato's Blog.
