Xiaomi’s Leaked Product Release Schedule Unearths Some Major Milestones

Includes a smartphone with a Snapdragon 820.

 

Xiaomi’s has been launching some really interesting smartphone lately. The Chinese smartphone maker took off with a bang by introducing the Mi Note and Note Pro with class-leading specifications (back then) and even launched the same in China a few days ago. Just recently it was the global announcement of the Mi 4i in India.

Makes us wonder what products that company has planned for the future. Well, wonder not, because someone managed to get a product release roadmap of Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphones and it looks pretty interesting.

While the Snapdragon 810 is the standard stuff for flagships at the beginning of the year, the announcement of a Snapdragon 820-powered device is really interesting.

But first we have Xiaomi Mi 4s which is expected to launch in June with a 5 inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 810 chipset, a 13 MP primary camera and a 4 MP front-facer.

Post that we have a few China-specific smartphones like a Hongmi Note 2 and a Hongmi Note 2 Pro as well with 5 inch Full HD display and a Snapdragon 615 inside.

Coming back to the Snapdragon 820, circa Q4 2015, Xiaomi will be preparing to launch the Mi 5 with a WQHD (Wide Screen Quad HD) display, a powerful Snapdragon 820 inside along and a 20 MP primary camera.

If all of this turns out to be true, those upgrading to the Note Pro should indeed wait as the Snapdragon 820 is just 6 months away. Still then, we must take all of this news with a pinch of salt as there is no way to verify it.
