Second Generation Moto X Gets Another Price Cut
Expect more price cuts to take place in the coming months.
Motorola’s year old flagship, the Moto X (2nd Gen) now seems to be catching dust indeed. Lost in a war of specs, the company has finally decided to drop its high-end price in order to keep sales going, which considering the new price tag should make it happen.
The 16 GB variant of the Moto X now sells from Rs 26,999, while the 32 GB model now retails from Rs 29,999.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset was indeed a lost cause. Manufacturers adopted it simply because they had to bring something new to the table; the chipset barely saw a minor bump in performance compared to tried and tested Snapdragon 800.
So the chipset indeed made more sense to manufacturers like Xiaomi who adopted the chipset later, (Mi 4) at a lower price instead of going in for the first fresh stocks like Motorola did.

Indeed Motorola’s current flagship is the Moto Turbo (Snapdragon 806), that made the Moto X look outdated as a flagship in a span of about 6 months.
The Motorola Moto Turbo currently retails for Rs 41,999 and seems like a better offering over the Nexus 6 (also made by Motorola) thanks to its smaller construction.
