HTC Sends Out Invites In China For The One M9 Plus
The company’s ugliest handset gets official.
HTC’s One M9 Plus is most certainly going to break the HTC One M8’s records in terms of appearances made via leaks before the launch.
So while HTC was busy sending out invites for an upcoming event in China for the One M9 Plus, the handset leaked in more images, this time, giving us some details about its hardware specifications.
The invite seems poorly done indeed and kind of makes us think that it is a fake thanks to the poorly placed camera lens on the back of the device (in the image).
Still then, the One M9 Plus looks spot on and in line with previous leaks (it still looks ugly) while retaining that large camera unit on the back that we hope is an UltraPixel one.
As for the leaked images (coming from multiple sources), we not only get a good view of the back and the front like the renders that leaked out yesterday, but the innards as well.
The benchmark result shows specs for a device built for China mobile:
- That packs in a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel) display
- A MediaTek MT6795T, 64-bit, octa-core chipset (with PowerVR G6200 GPU) coupled with 3 GB of RAM
- Sadly there is no UltraPixel business here as the camera shows a standard 20 MP unit similar to the One M9
Also visible is that split BoomSound speaker grill at the bottom with a fingerprint sensor in the middle which frankly speaking seems more prototype than a finished product.
So as of now HTC’s powerful beast as per earlier rumours is headed for the Chinese market and nowhere else until the official announcement arrives.
Meanwhile, HTC has yet to announce its flagship One M9 in India, this is espcially since LG and Samsung have already got a head start.
