Xiaomi’s Ferrari Is A Snapdragon 615-Powered Budget Monster
Its eyes are on the YU Yureka indeed.
Prominent benchmarking tool GeekBench has now helped surfaced information about a new Xiaomi handset, dubbed the ‘Ferrari’. As per the hardware specs that have surfaced thanks to the tool, we can clearly tell that Xiaomi has the YU Yureka in its crosshairs with this one. But will Xiaomi be too late?
We all know that the YU Yureka is indeed a hot seller for a number of reasons. Firstly, it runs bloatware-free CyanogenMod and secondly, we have a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 inside as well, all packaged with the right hardware bits at the right price.
Indeed the handset has Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4G for breakfast and still manages to remain slimmer and lighter.
Jokes aside, Xiaomi with its Ferrari seems to be after just that. The specs comes pretty close and you can tell that this will be a competitor for YU unless of course YU launches its second handset codenamed “Project Caesar”.

Still then the specs of this mysterious budget device are as follows:
- We get a 4.9 inch Full HD display which trumps the Yureka
- The same octa-core Snapdragon 615 clocked at 1.6 GHz, but with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory
- There is a 12 MP camera on the back and a 5 MP unit up front
- The handset runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and comes with a single SIM and usual sensors apart from NFC and a barometer
Seems like Xiaomi has come up with quite a competitor for the higher end of its budget segment. Only problem that remains is about the handset’s announcement and more importantly when will it see a launch? So that Xiaomi can make the prices competitive.
