Smart Lock For Android 5.0 Lollipop Smartphones.

The smart lock detects whether the smartphone is being held in hands or carried in your pocket.

If you are an Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile user, you will be delighted for Google's latest move.

The Internet giant is now rolling out a new smart lock which will be specially available on it's Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

However, interestingly, to get the new smart lock, your smartphone don't need to be running on a stock ROM.

Coming to the details of the new smart lock, it is based primarily on detecting whether you are holding or carrying your device in your pocket.

To detail it more, the “On-body detection” feature can be turned on from the Smart Lock section of Security settings. Once switched on, the device will stay unlocked as long as it detects that it’s being held or carried in a pocket, handbag, or the like.

When the phone is set down (movement is no longer the detected) it locks up, so the next time you pick it up you’ll need to enter your PIN, password, or pattern.

This feature is specifically useful only when you are on the move a lot. Contrarily, if you are sitting at a desk all day, the feature may not be as much useful.

However, this smart lock is surely expected to bring down the number of times you have to unlock your device in a day.

But, as always, every good feature definitely comes with a con attached with it.

The same way, the phone can't tell as of now whether it's you or someone else carrying the phone.

If someone steals your device from your pocket or purse, they will be able to sneak through it without any restrictions. So if you want the very best protection, it’s better to keep this feature off.
