HTC One M7 Will Not Receive Android 5.1
Android 5.0 Lollipop will be the flagship smartphone’s last update.
There is indeed some bad news for owners of the HTC One M7 (or the original One). It has been confirmed that the smartphone will not be receiving any more updates post the Android 5.0 Lollipop one.
The information has surfaced thanks to HTC VP of Product Management, Mo Versi, who seems to have clarified a couple of things for a One M7 owner on Twitter.
Seems to us that HTC’s bloat, which comes with its Sense UI is creating problems for the Taiwanese smartphone maker.
We can can surely confirm the same because the Google Play Version of the smartphone is getting the 5.1 update, which fixes a lot of bugs that come with 5.0 Lollipop.
While Nexus users are busy cribbing about Android 5.1, seems like HTC One M7 owners will not be happy to hear this news.
Still then we can bank on HTC to deliver bug fixing updates (for 5.0) for the One M7 for some time at least. We guess that HTC wants One M7 owners to upgrade to the recently announced One M9 after all.
