The update and widget are available now on iPhone but expected to come to Android soon.

 

Truecaller seems to have come up with a new widget called 'Today Widget'.

The addition of the widget comes along with the updated Truecaller version 5.0 and it is believed to help user identify an unknown number instantly.

The widget has been termed by the phone directory app as 'Truecaller Widget Search' and is expected to help user easily identify a missed call.

Also, the app is redesigned totally to optimise it for the iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus smartphones.

Through this widget, users can easily copy an unknown phone number from the call histroy and drag it down to Apple's Today View to identify the caller.

The update seems to provide facility for users to search people within and outside the user's phonebook.

The widget now will search for the number or name from the user's phonebook and if cannot identify, it will continue to search from within the Truecaller database the company claims to be around 1.6 billion names in it.

Apart from this, the new user interface allows for quick ways to send text messages or place calls to user profiles just discovered. Once a user profile is pulled, users will need to swipe left to place a call or text. The updated Truecaller app for iPhone also brings updated Spam filters for better protection against unwanted calls, and the app is claimed to be faster than before.

User can update the latest version of app through the Apple's App Store.

However, this update is not yet available for Android phones which has left many with sad faces.
