Microsoft Announces Its Most Affordable WP Offering Yet, The Lumia 435
Will take the Motorola Moto E head on... well somewhat.
We all know that Microsoft is indeed pretty serious about the entry-level to mid-range smartphone market. The software giant has been introducing handset after handset in the above mentioned segment and somehow wants to take on Android by delivering a smooth UI with quality hardware.
And with the announcement of the Nokia Lumia 435, the company plans to do just that. The handset comes with entry-level hardware and throws in a good design that looks like a mix of the Lumia 830 (minus the metal frame) and the Lumia 630.
Delving deeper into the hardware specifications, we can tell that Microsoft indeed has the Motorola Moto E in its crosshairs; even though Motorola seems to be preparing a successor to the same.
- We get a 4 inch 800 x 480 (WVGA) pixel LCD display with a pixel density of 233ppi
- Inside, we get a 1.2 GHz, dual-core, Qualcomm-made Snapdragon 200 processor with 1 GB of RAM
- Internal memory is limited to 8 GB with expandable memory options going all the way up to 128 GB
- The camera department consists of a fixed-focus 2 MP primary unit coupled with a VGA front facing sensor
- We get the usual radios including 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 all powered by a 1560 mAh battery, that falls short compared to the current Moto E
On the software side of things, the Lumia 435 comes with the latest Lumia Denim update; though the hardware limitations mean that you may not be treated to all those high-end camera features.
The handset selling in India is the dual SIM version and is available in Bright Green, Bright Orange, white and black colours. As of now only the black and white variants are available on Microsoft’s partner e-store for a price tag of Rs 5,999.
The Microsoft Lumia 435 is expected to reach brick and mortar stores soon.
