Google Now Launcher Finally Gets A Material Design Overhaul
Things were indeed beginning to age with Google’s silent digital assistant.
Google has finally released an update for the Google Now launcher for Android. The update will seed out gradually (as always) and only supports devices with Android Jelly Bean and above.
The update brings a ton of new animations and transitions that keeps things refreshed. The lag does not exist any more and this was a common problem on KitKat and Jelly Bean powered devices.
But there’s more. The overall lag and stuttering is now gone and while things look a lot different thanks to the Material Design influence, we are pretty sure that the app will be silky smooth once users make it to Android Lollipop.
Of course the objective of this very update is to deliver a refreshed Google Now experience to older devices. This is because a large number of non-Nexus devices have yet to receive their Android 5.0 Lollipop updates.
