Xiaomi Teases Its First Ultra-Thin Flaghip; Mi 4S Anyone?

While we have seen the smartphone leak out in the past, there is a possibility that Xiaomi could showcase some other device altogether.

 

While we knew that Xiaomi would be unveiling its next big thing on the 15th of January this year, the company’s new teaser somehow seems to stir up our anxiety. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer put out a teaser via its official forums and from the looks of it, Xiaomi’s next flagship is going to be very very thin. Yes OPPO... they are looking at you.

The teaser image confirms the date of the unveil but apart from that also confirms the unbelievably slim form factor of Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphone. There is an image of a hand with very small gap between the thumb and forefinger, with the text that translates to: “What is thinner than a cicada’s wings?”.

As much as we want to believe that the teaser refers to the recently leaked Mi 4S smartphone. We highly doubt that the phablet form-factor could support a construction as thin as this. One thing to note here is that we have not been able to find any images of the side profile of the device, so this could after all be the phablet that had leaked out. If Xiaomi did manage to pull off such a device, then there would indeed be no stopping the company from taking over the premium phablet market. Lets hope that the software has been tweaked to take advantage of that giant screen as well.

The event will be held at 2:00 PM (Beijing Time) at the National Conference Centre in Beijing on the 15th of January and about 1000 tickets will be available for eager Mi fans.
