BlackBerry Ties Up With Boeing To Build A Self-Destructing Smartphone
Will support call encryption and plenty of goodies that should make it worth the high estimated asking price, which again has not been disclosed.
Yes, Boeing is a company from the aviation industry and the Boeing Black phone will self-destruct; but for now have no clue how damaging its effects will be. BlackBerry’s latest endeavour in building weird-looking phones has now lead to a tie-up with a big name in the aviation industry; but you will not be able to buy it.
With so much hype around security it is rather odd that BlackBerry and Boeing chose to power the smartphone with Android. Of course BlackBerry’s Enterprise 12 platform will take care of security meaning that everything you do on your smartphone will be for your eyes only.
The Boeing Black phone also includes dual SIM slots and can be configured to work and connect with satellites as well delivering encrypted calls and a lot more. Indeed what is the coolest feature is the self-destruction part. While BlackBerry remained mum on how it works, our guesses would lead to a clean wipe after a cloud backup (rather than an explosion) that would help its customers remain worry free if someone try’s to gain access; even with a fingerprint scanner in place.
Indeed with so many security features, BlackBerry plans to sell the smartphone to government agencies and for those very important people for whom security is critical. BlackBerry CEO John Chen gave away the news and made it pretty clear that it was only for those in the know. Those selective few people already have access to the smartphone and BlackBerry has already begun manufacturing them.
