Enterprises Will Have Full Control Over The Windows 10 App Store
While this means you won't be able to install games on your office PC, your company won't be hell bent on running devices on outdated versions of Windows
When Microsoft unveiled Windows 10 back at the end of September, the company didn't hold back in mentioning it was built keeping enterprise customers in mind. While that did translate to the roll back of Windows 8's heavily touch-reliant interface, there wasn't much else.
Now however, the company has revealed a few more details that elaborate what it meant when it said built keeping the enterprise in mind. The Windows Store on Windows 10 will allow businesses to customize and manage delivery of apps and updates to users, great for IT managers to maintain control on what gets installed.
That probably means you won't be able to download games on your office PC, but on the upside, at least your company won't be so hellbent on retaining use of outdated software, just to keep control of their devices. Users will be able to download approved public apps from the Windows Store, as well as in-house apps.
We're still not aware of the many improvements Microsoft has made under the hood of Windows 10, but as we progress towards the end of 2014, the frequency of hearing about these updates should increase. So far the company has made the right moves when it comes to listening to its enterprise customers, and even has the Windows Insider Program that encourages users to get in on shaping Windows 10.
