Samsung Unveils GALAXY Pocket
Affordable Android features a 2.8" screen and 2 MP camera.
MWC 2012 is over, and most companies are done with their gadget announcement frenzy. However, it looks like Samsung isn't short on devices and has announced yet another entry-level Android smartphones, the Galaxy Pocket.
The handset is powered by a 832 MHz CPU to handle Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It features a 2.8" screen with pixel dimensions of 240x320. Other specs include 3 GB of internal memory, microSD card slot, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm jack, and a 1200 mAh battery. The gadget also packs in a modest 2 MP fixed focus camera as a token feature. On paper, it pretty much sounds like the GALAXY Y. However, there's a minor difference between their screen sizes. For those who don't know, the GALAXY Y sports a 3" display as opposed to the Pocket's 2.8" screen.
The Pocket is expected hit the worldwide market later this year. However, Samsung hasn't revealed any details regarding its pricing, but I think it will be priced around Rs 7000.
