Samsung Is Already Working On The GALAXY S6
While this year’s GALAXY S5 was clearly not of much interest, Samsung is apparently working from scratch on the upcoming S6.
While Samsung’s smartphone profits keep dropping, it has indeed forced the company to take some brave strides into the world of metal on smartphones. This indeed goes to show that even Samsung may be in the process of losing out on millions of its fans, as Apple iPhones 6 Plus units keep flying off the shelves. Well, all of this has apparently forced Samsung into completely rethinking the way they will build the GALAXY S6. Yes, it is a reality and Samsung, according to SamMobile, has begun working on the smartphone with a clean slate.
Well the upcoming GALAXY S6 will be no different from the other flagships that Samsung has released this year like the Note 4. It will sport a completely new design, but (from what we can see) still bank on numbers (like Samsung always does) to make things appealing.
- We should expect a Quad HD display (2560 x 1440 pixels) since the company missed out on it on the GALAXY S5
- A top-of-the-line Exynos 7420 SoC that will not only usher in the 64-bit era for Samsung but also deliver a longer battery life
- SamMobile claims that the Snapdragon variant will come with a the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, again a 64-bit offering while the RAM for both models will be capped at 3 GB
- Samsung will still go in for a Sony IMX240 camera module but we have no clue what the final mega pixel count will be
Project Zero as it is being called deep in Samsung’s labs, will see some more modifications in terms of the above mentioned specifications. So we may after all see something different as time progresses and Samsung unveils the smartphone at the MWC 2015.
A few years ago, it was indeed not Samsung-like to launch a flagship smartphone with standard specs. Its flagship smartphones were all about the numbers and less about design and aesthetics. It was just after the recent drop in profits that the company is seeing a turnaround in terms of design and has left its old philosophies behind and moved on to a smarter designs with balanced power (the GALAXY Alpha and the new A series are proof of that).
