Google Camera App Gets Updated; Gets The Material Design Treatment
Gets a slight UX upgrade and a refreshed menu.
Google has finally pushed out its Material Design update for its Google Camera that can be used on most Android smartphones available today. The app works with Google’s simplistic ideology about how a simple camera experience should be and makes for a good alternative for those who do not like to fidget with the plethora of settings that come with manufacturer camera apps these days.
As for the new update its updates two things in particular. The user interface gets an update and there is Material Design everywhere. Even the Settings menu gets an overhaul with some bright colours and bolder text. Talking about brighter colours, even the app’s icon has been updated and is finally on par with the default app that we have been teased with on Nexus 6 and latest Android Lollipop build.
Google had earlier released an update for the Google Camera app almost a year ago which was a complete overhaul. Post that it was just a few months ago in July that we saw another update to deliver support for the Android Wear-powered smartwatches.
With so many apps getting updates so quickly, it was pretty much obvious that the Camera app was on Google’s list of priorities. Clearly this means that Android Lollipop update will be hitting Nexus devices pretty soon.
