After Bengali, Yahoo! India Now Offers Malayalam Content
Ties up with Malayala Manorama for its latest regional language offering.
Yahoo! India is embracing more Indian languages, and that too in quick succession. After coming up with the Yahoo! Bengali portal last month, the search giant has tied up with leading Malayalam language daily, the Malayala Manorama to offer digital content in Malayalam, reports IANS.
Malayalam on Yahoo! India gives access to local, national, and global news related to politics, sports, business, governance, utility, and entertainment. Some interesting content for users includes Lifestyle and utility information on topics such as education, motoring, health, religion & spirituality, and astrology sections. Select articles from Manorama Online such as Movie, Music, and Weekend will also be published on this web portal.
Arun Tadanki, Managing Director, Yahoo! India and Southeast Asia said, "Launch of Malayalam content on Yahoo! India is yet another milestone in the execution of our language strategy, aimed at growing the overall internet user base in India. Our choice of partners has always been driven by our commitment to bring in premium content from a trusted brand, in this case Malayala Manorama. Together, we bring the latest from the world of news, entertainment, and other local interests to a discerning audience".
This will be Yahoo! India's fifth Indian language offering after Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, and Bengali completing the list.
