Xiaomi's Stock Of 1,50,000 Redmi 1S Units Are Still Up For Sale On Flipkart

Seems like the fad has finally ended.

 

Yes, if you just woke up from bed and realised that it's too late to head online and buy that Redmi 1S, well apparently you are not late for the sale. In what would have been one of the biggest flash sales in India, Xiaomi had decided to bring in 1,50,000 units of the Redmi 1S expecting high demand since it is the festive season. In a surprising turn of events, even 3 hours later, those units are still available online for purchase. Seems like this time around, the company kind of over-estimated demand and brought in too many units that don’t seem to be finding buyers.

Xiaomi’s smartphone flash sales usually run out in seconds. But that has clearly not happened today as the sale begun at 8 AM and you can still add the Redmi 1S to your cart (as of writing this article).

The price vs value factor still cannot be beaten and while ASUS has also hauled in a big shipment of Zenfones today as well, both manufacturers are clearly looking at different price points.

Xiaomi indeed seems to have overshot customer expectations today by even offering the Redmi 1S to buyers who have not registered for the sale in advance. Indeed the company was planning out on pushing out stocks for some strange reason. So is the Redmi Note up next?
