Intex Launches Aqua Star And Aqua Star Power Starting From Rs 6990
The focus is clearly on the battery life as Intex Mobile Business Head, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona indicates.
Intex has announced two new entry-level smartphones called the Intex Aqua Star and the Aqua Star Power. The company had recently announced its Aqua Style Pro for the South Indian markets just a month ago. The new handsets have been designed keeping the needs of users in mind, which is why Intex has focussed on the battery life of the device, while delivering sufficient performance for everyday usage.
The Intex Aqua Star is the bigger handset of the two. While the Aqua Star Power also comes with with the same internals, it comes with a bigger battery but a smaller display; the only differentiating features between the two handsets, in terms of hardware specs. The Aqua Star goes with a premium looking square design with rounded corners, while the Aqua Star Power goes with a rounded modern look with a matte-rubberised finish.
The Intex Aqua Star
As for the specs:
- We get a 4.5 inch (854 x 480 pixel) display (5 inch on the Aqua Star)
- While the inside gets treated to a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor
- The memory department consists of 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory that is expandable via a micro SD card slot
- In terms of imaging we get an 8 MP sensor with an LED flash on the back with a 2 MP front-facing camera up front
- The handset includes the usual radios and comes with the dual SIM functionality as well
- It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and is powered by a 3000 mAh battery (2000 mAh on the Aqua Star)
The Intex Aqua Star Power
Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies made the company’s intentions pretty clear while saying:
“At Intex, we believe in offering what the customer needs and we felt the need to work towards a product that could address the issue of battery life. With Intex Aqua Star Power, we hope to address the concerns of mobile users who are active on social media platforms and enjoy gaming on their smartphones.”
The Intex Star Aqua will be priced at Rs 6990, while the Star Aqua Power will be priced at Rs 7490. There is no news about availability yet, but the handsets when available, will come in black and white.
