Asphalt Overdrive Launches On iOS, Android And WP On September 25
Gameloft seems to have gone down a different lane for this instalment indeed.
We clearly could not wrap our heads around Asphalt Overdrive when it was first demoed at E3 this year. It was a complete change from a game that involved precision controls to an endless runner; simply put it goes from Modern Combat to Subway Surfers. Whether fans will love or loath it, Gameloft can be sure that it will climb to the top downloads list when it launches on the 25th of September.
Yes Asphalt Overdrive is an endless racer. You hold the phone vertically and swipe to change lanes with the usual power ups. Certainly makes the game from an arcade racer, to a casual runner. Indeed, Gameloft may be looking for a departure from the usual, so this may after all not be the next instalment to the Asphalt series, but simply a one off idea to bring in some new users.
The game will be highly addictive considering that it looks exactly like the screen shots below. Yes, there are games like this already available in the market place such as Redline Rush, which is why the graphics of the game will be a deal breaker, since endless runners usually go with blocky themes.
Still then we can’t wait for a hands-on with Asphalt Overdrive as it will still be an exciting game to play with just a thumb. The game will be available on Android, iOS and Windows Phone as well when it goes online on the 25th of September.
