Samsung Sends Out Invites For GALAXY Alpha Launch On September 27
Tagged as Samsung’s iPhone could this phone be the balance of style and power that users have been looking for?
Samsung has been sending press invites for the launch of what they claim will be the “next generation stylephone”. Indeed what they are referring to could be the recently announced GALAXY Alpha smartphone, one that saw a soft launch much before the announcement of the GALAXY Note 4 at the IFA.
The handset is definitely a unique one considering that it is coming from Samsung. This is because it places form over power and will be the first phone that does not comes with those record breaking specs that we are used to from Samsung.
The GALAXY Alpha is instead pegged as a premium offering that will lock shoulders with the iPhone:
- You get a 4.7 inch 1280 x 720 pixel Super AMOLED display
- With a powerful octa-core Exynos 5 (4 x Cortex A15 @1.8 GHz + 4 x Cortex A7 @ 1.3 GHz) powering it
- 32 GB of internal memory comes standard along with 2 GB of RAM and no expandable memory
- 12 MP camera sensor with an LED flash and 2.1 MP sensor on the front for selfies
- As for the radios, you get treated to LTE Category 6 connectivity along with the dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0
- The handset is powered by a 1860 mAh battery which although puny may have been put there to make the phone lighter at just 115 grams
- And the handset will be powered by Android KitKat 4.4.4 with Samsung TouchWiz layer leading the way
Rumours have it that the premium handset will be priced at Rs 42,000. Makes us wonder what they GALAXY Note 4 will be priced at, considering that the rumours say that its going to be priced more than the iPhone 6 for now.
