Apple iPhone 6 And 6 Plus Repair Costs Out; Will Cost You A Pretty Penny
While the battery and screen replacements will cost you the usual, its the “other repairs” that iPhone 6 owners should be worried about.
While we still have no confirmed date for the Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus’ launch just yet, Apple has already outed the repair cost breakdown for the US, a market that has already got its hands on the new iPhones. While everything seems pretty much the usual when it comes to iPhone 6 repairs that are out of warranty, you may want to pick up the Apple Care plan this time around as anything apart from the usual screen and battery replacement will cost you an arm and a leg.
Getting down to business, replacing the iPhone 6’s display will cost you 109 USD ( approx. 6700 INR) while the 6 Plus’ display costs about 129 USD (approx. 7900 INR). This is on par with flagship Android smartphones and the usual iPhone 5s replacements. You can also add the $6.95 shipping fee to the cost and yes, this does not include taxes.
As for the battery replacements, its 79 USD (approx. 4800 INR) including shipping costs and taxes. Then there is the “Other Repairs” section, which includes anything apart from the above mentioned repairs. This will set you back you by 299 USD (approx. 18,000 INR) for the iPhone 6 and the 329 USD (approx. 20,000 INR) for the iPhone 6 Plus.
Obviously Apple does recommend (on the same page) that you pay 79 USD for (approx. 5000 INR) for an Apple Care+ plan and avoid this. Still then don’t expect wonders and in India you may in fact be better off with mobile insurance.
