Sony Xperia Z3 Gets Dismantled; Reveals The Smaller 3100mAh Battery
Indeed there is not much left to reveal, but that display still remains a mystery.
While we have seen the Sony Xperia Z3 in leaked images over the past few months, we have yet to get a proper glimpse of the mid-cycle flagship handset that Sony is preparing. After leaking out a couple of times in the past alongside its smaller (but not less powerful) sibling, the Xperia Z3 Compact, the Xperia Blog has finally managed to get some clear images of the handset being torn down (in a somewhat iFixit way).
Insides apart, we have finally got our first look at the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3 flagship. The handset similar to the blurry leaked images of the past show the rounded frame with control layouts that mimic its predecessor the Xperia Z2. The handset looks polished compared to Xperia Z2, but we still have no clue about that display, which rumours state will again be a Full HD one.
As for the inside, the leaker does mention that the battery has shrunk a bit to 3100 mAh compared to the Z2’s 3200 mAh unit. While we cannot say much about the innards, we just hope that Sony has figured out a better way to take care of the Z2’s heating problems. In our review, the handset kept shutting the camera app after a minute of 4K recording that was heavily advertised by Sony. Camera aside, the handset indeed got too hot to hold while playing games as well.
Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z3 with a faster version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 coupled with 3 GB of RAM and a 20.7 MP camera at the IFA Berlin; along with its smaller sibling the Xperia Z3 Compact.
