Thailand Regulator Approves Two iPhone 6 Models For Sale
Seems that Apple is planning a simultaneous global launch, which explains why it increased the order for the iPhone 6.
The launch of the iPhone 6 is imminent, and all signs point to the devices being unveiled at an event scheduled for September 9. Further confirmation that the launch is near comes from Thailand, where The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has approved two new iPhone models for sale in the country.
The NBTC is similar in function to the FCC in the US, and all manufacturers must seek prior permission of the body in order to sell their devices in Thailand. The commission's Secretary General Takorn Tantasith confirmed in a tweet the country has approved sale of the iPhone 6.
Other sources pointed out that two models, namely A1524 and A1586, had been approved for sale in the country. This further bolsters the fact that there will indeed be two iPhone 6 models, and based on the numerous leaks will feature a 4.7-inch or 5.5-inch displays.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple launched the iPhone 5s and 5c in Thailand in October last year, a month after it was initially unveiled. The company seeking for the regulators permission in the country this early could mean Apple vying to launch the device in September itself, which in turn point at a simultaneous global release.
This phenomenon also explains why Apple has placed such large orders for the iPhone 6, which rumours suggest is between 70-80 million units. The company last year placed orders for between 50-60 million units of the iPhone 5s and 5c, going to show the true scale of growth in sales Apple is expecting this time around.
