Samsung GALAXY S5 LTE-A And GALAXY Alpha Benchmarks Leak | TechTree.com
Samsung GALAXY S5 LTE-A And GALAXY Alpha Benchmarks Leak
Out of the two, the GALAXY Alpha was clearly not built for performance.
Two new devices have been benchmarked with the AnTuTu benchmarking tool. SamMobile got their hands on the benchmark results which show some rather unusual numbers. Going by the leaks, this not the GALAXY S5 LTE-A that is already available in Korea, but an unannounced one that sports the Intel LTE Cat6 (Category 6) model. As for the second device, we got our first offical glimpse of it when it was announced yesterday. Yes we are talking about Samsung’s fashionable GALAXY Alpha.
The Galaxy S5 LTE-A scored a pretty healthy 39712 points which is ahead of the GALAXY S5, the Note 3 and for comparison purposes the HTC One M8 as well.
As for the recently announced mix-bag Alpha, its scored a lower 33877 points which is kind of confusing since they use the same Exynos 5430 chipset.
Our best guess is that Samsung may have under clocked the processor to run slower in order to increase the puny 1850 mAh battery’s longevity on the Alpha. Clearly not everyone gets everything right when it comes to slimmer devices and compromises are often made in terms of performance. Unless of course you control both the hardware and software like Apple.
Still then we are pretty sure that GALAXY Alpha users aren’t looking for performance, which is why it is being marketed as a premium device for the fashionistas.
