Google Posts A New Release For The Android L Preview
New update simply includes support for Google Fit as of now.
Google has finally released an updated preview image for developers for its latest version of the Android operating system called Android L. While the first release did come with a number of bugs, which was expected since it was indeed the first release, we certainly expected the new version to fix a couple of old ones. Sadly, not much has changed.
The only new feature to be added to the new firmware which runs on the Nexus 5 and 7 is the Google Fit support for developers who would need to use them. Since this is indeed the first time that Google has released a preview for developers, compared to the past, we did expect something similar to what happens in the Windows Phone space, where the team keeps releasing updates with bug fixes. Sadly, Google did not seemed to have worked upon the new release apart from adding Google Fit support meaning that for those who are running the Android L preview, will most likely uninstall it thanks to number of bugs including the battery drain one.
Android L is clearly here to change a lot of things in the Android space. It introduces Google’s Material Design philosophy to mobile and will make it a lot smoother with battery friendly performance. Clearly its here to set prepare the base for Google’s Project Silver handsets which will in all probability show up somewhere in February 2015.
