Nokia X2 Lives On; Goes On Sale In Russia And Pakistan

Either that or Nokia's sales department didn’t quite get the memo.

After the two heartfelt letters from Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO and Mobile Devices Chief, Stephen Elop, it seems that Microsoft is indeed putting up the confused love child called the Nokia X2, on sale. Reports point out that Microsoft has actually put the handset up for sale in Russia (official Nokia Store) and in Pakistan as well for approximately 9537 INR.

The Nokia X2 was indeed launched at time which was immediately followed by the “big lay off” at Microsoft (Nokia). Clearly insiders knew about it, and even though the ‘Big M’ made it clear that it would be killing the Nokia X Software Platform, many did wonder what would happen about the Nokia X2; a handset that the company announced just a short while ago.

Now that the handset has gone on sale, we wonder who would actually buy one of these handsets to begin with. It’s not that the Nokia X range was a sales success either, with Microsoft, delivering price cut after price cut, ever since the series was introduced for the Indian market.

Either ways, the platform was designed to deliver Microsoft’s services to the masses, something which not too many smartphone users are convinced about, since they do seem a bit limited in nature when compared to Google’s plethora of services.
