Company Explains Reason Behind Moto 360's 'Classical' Design
"We were very inspired by watches," says Lior Ron, product lead for the Moto 360
While other android wears have started shipping to the customer, Moto 360 is still one of the most awaited.
Almost all the smartwatch makers have decided to stick to the squarish design, but Moto 360 stands out with its round classical look. The latest video teaser released on YouTube sheds light into the reason for going in with a classical design.
"We were very inspired by watches," said Lior Ron, product lead for the Moto 360. He goes on to explain some of the rationale behind the Moto 360, including its eye-popping round shape.
The key advantage of having a round screen is that more information is visible in a smaller surface area. The most striking aspect is that with Moto 360 the company is looking to ensure that the basic function of a watch is intact, while other applications play a secondary role.
The smartwatch is likely to be shipped later this year.
