Google Play Games 2.0 Brings Level-Up Notifications And UI Changes

After showing that Google is indeed serious about Gaming thanks to Android TV, comes an update that adds a lot of features to the old app.

 

Android users love to game, this is clear from the powerful processors and the humongous displays that most owners love to game on. Google also is pretty serious about the gaming front and this was made pretty clear with Android TV that was announced at the Google I/O recently.

Now comes along an update which changes a lot of things and brings in some interesting new features; turning the Google Play Games app into a pretty useful one. Say “Hello” to Play Games 2.0

Most of us have never ventured into Google Play Games app, but this is about to change. The Play Games 2.0 app has some really useful features that makes it a worthwhile for the space that it occupies on every Android smartphone. The new features include Level-Up notifications, which basically will show your XP level and let you know when your friend levels up or how much you need to reach the same. Also included is a revamped Inbox with separate tabs for invitations, quests and gifts.

The My Games section has also moved to a tiled format which allows for displaying more games at once. The Players section now shows full-width cards instead and displays more information about players you normally compete with and friends who are playing the same game.

The update has just begun rolling out, and it may take some time till it reaches your Android smartphone. If you cannot wait, you can head over to Android Police and download the .apk file and install it via your file manager.
