Asus Launches ZenFone Range Priced Between Rs 5,999 & Rs 16,999

The three devices come with display sizes ranging from 4 to 6-inch, are powered by Intel's Atom processors and run on Google's Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

 

Asus has launched its ZenFone range of budget smartphones in the Indian market, priced between Rs 5,999 and 16,999. The three devices come with display sizes ranging from 4 to 6-inch, are powered by Intel's Atom processors and run on Google's Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The smallest of the three devices, the ZenFone 4, is priced at Rs 5,999 and packs a 4-inch WVGA display, shielding a 1.2GHz Intel Atom processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. Internal storage memory stands at 8GB, which can be expanded to a maximum of 64GB via a microSD card slot.

The ZenFone 4 supports dual SIM cards and connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The device comes with a 1,600mAh battery that the company claims is rated for 192 hours of standby and 10.1 hours of talk time.

Next up is the Asus ZenFone 5 that features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) display and is priced at Rs 9,999. The device is powered by a 2.0GHz Intel Atom processor coupled along with 2GB of RAM. The phone will be available in two variants, one with 8GB of internal memory and another with 16GB of on-board storage.

Like its smaller sibling the ZenFone 5 comes with the option of expanding memory by up to 64GB, and even supports dual SIM cards. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, while the battery is rated at 2,110mAh.

The largest of the three devices, the Asus ZenFone 6 as its name suggests features a 6-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) display. The device is powered by a 2.0GHz Intel Atom processor coupled to 2GB of RAM. The ZenFone 6 will be available in either a 16GB or 32GB variant, however the company hasn't announced the difference in pricing.

Memory can be expanded via a microSD card up to a maximum of 64GB and the phone supports dual SIM cards. Connectivity options are the exact same as the two smaller models – 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. The larger form factor however does make for a massive 3,300mAh battery that's good 398 hours of standby and 28 hours of talk time.

While all three devices currently run an outdated version of Android, the company has said that a 4.4 KitKat update will be available soon. The new software will come loaded with Asus' proprietor ZenUI loaded on top of it.
