Leaked: Specifications Of Samsung's King-Sized Galaxy Mega 2

The alleged device should be the long rumoured sequel to Samsung's mid-range Galaxy Mega phablet.

Samsung could soon introduce the sequel to its Galaxy Mega phablet, as indicated by a leak of a devices specifications on GFXBench. Going by the name of Galaxy Mega 2, the device's specifications point to a plus-sized mid-range device just like the original Mega.

The alleged Galaxy Mega 2 will feature a 5.9-inch display as opposed to the 5.8 or 6.3-inch screen options available on the original Mega. The display resolution however remains exactly the same – 1280x720 pixels, which is shared by both the current devices.

Going by the leak, the device will be powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, coupled to 2GB of RAM. The Mega 2 will also feature a 12MP primary camera and a 4.7MP front-facing shooter. Internal storage memory will stand at a quaint 8GB, but the device should run on Android 4.4.3 KitKat.

Rumours of the phone's launch have been circulating for a few months now, and usually benchmark sightings come just before the launch of a product. For now though we have no official word from Samsung about the launch of the alleged SM-G7508 'Galaxy Mega 2', but that could all change rather soon.

In any case, any new launch in the Galaxy Mega series should retain the same concept as before: being a cheaper alternative to the company's Galaxy Note range.
