Google Delays Multi-Lingual Voice-Recognition To Fix Bugs
The update was supposed to be rolled out last week
The multi-language voice-recognition for Google Now was supposed to be rolled out last week, but the internet giant has revealed that it has been delayed for sometime due to implementation issues.
This was because the engineers discovered a few bugs when they were in the final testing phase and Google wants to fix it before rolling it out. "Multi-language support is complicated stuff and they found some bugs during their final testing phase that they wanted to fix before making the feature generally available," a Google spokesperson told CNET.
This was supposed to be one of the biggest roll out by the Google as it was supposed to recognize seven different languages at one go within a sentence. Currently, Google Now recognizes 52 languages and the voice search feature is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome OS desktops in Google Chrome, and in Search apps for Android, iOS.
As part of the Google Now update, users will be able to use the feature from any screen just by saying “OK Google”. Previously it could only be done in the home screen, but with the update, it can be activated anywhere, even the lock screen, as long as the display has been turned on.
