Google Will Preview The Next Android Version At Today's I/O
Google's move to preview the 'L' version of Android is aimed at increasing transparency.
Google's I/O is all set to kick off on Wednesday and among the many things the company will show-off, we will most certainly get a look at the next version ('L' version) of Android. According to a Bloomberg report, Google will preview the next version of its mobile OS at the I/O in a move to improve transparency.
The move could have a lot to do with Android phone makers complaining that a fall release of a new Android was too late to prepare for the holiday season. Moreover, it put the company manufacturing Nexus devices for Google at an advantage.

This time around, Google could follow in the steps of Apple, who traditionally preview new versions of iOS well before its launch. It has already been confirmed that the next version of Android will ditch the Dalvik app run time in favour of ART. Things like these may seem like mere technical changes, but for Android phone manufacturers, it's huge.
Still, we don't really know what the next version of Android will be called - Lollipop, Lemonhead, or even Laddoo. The other major announcement from Google that has got us all raging is the launch of Android Wear, the operating system for wearables.
