Yahoo Aviate Launcher Steps Out Of Beta; Reaches Play Store
The launcher brings along the usual stuff with some welcome tricks of its own.
The Yahoo Aviate Launcher is finally out of beta and is now available for download on Google’s Play Store. The third-party Android home screen replacement unlike other launchers available in the Store, comes with its own set of tricks which utilizes your app usage, location and time of day, to figure out what you need on your Android phone’s homescreen.
The Aviate team basically wants to simplify the way you use your mobile phone. They do this by literally peeking into the various native apps on your phone and then figuring out, whom and which app you use most. Yes, if you think this sounds familiar, it is similar to Nokia’s Z Launcher; but the other way around.

The layout of the homescreen (thanks to all the peeking), will then keep on changing depending on the time of day and even on your location (home/work). The layouts will even include a mini music widget on top when the app thinks you normally listen to music and will not show the same when you are sitting at your work desk.
You also get the usual features that you would get from other launchers from the Play Store. Customisation is a bit limited but the app will allow you to install icon packs, choose your widgets, and even change the overall theme which is currently restricted to black and white.
Its a great app for those who simply hate fidgeting with their homescreens and simply want things to fall in place automatically. In fact Aviate is so smart, that it will event let you know how many hours your slept for on your morning homescreen with directions to the nearest eating joint for breakfast.
All we will say is give it a shot!
