HTC Makes Fun Of Samsung’s ‘Modern Glam’ Design
Apparently, only GALAXY S5 buyers can decode why the phone looks awesome to them.
HTC seems to be in a fun mood and is apparently replacing Nokia, who used to earlier poke at Samsung’s claims in the ad campaigns or on social media. The Taiwanese smartphone maker has poked fun at Samsung’s controversial ‘Modern Glam’ design, which appeals to GALAXY S5 owners the world over.
The tweet shows the band-aid patches in 3 shades that are very similar to the colours that the Samsung GALAXY S5 is available in. Also shown is the shiny metal-clad warrior, the HTC M8 shown standing right next to it. While there already appears to be ‘nuff said’, HTC adds some context using the line, “Introducing the cure for bad design.”

Clearly Samsung needs to let go of the dimpled faux-leather look and move to something more creative and refreshed, considering the billions in profits that they make every year. The company’s Head of Mobile Design, Chang Dong-hoon had recently resigned with low sales to blame, indicating that we may see a better future for Samsung’s badly designed products. But then again the recently announced TAB S range takes a step back carrying on with the same old ‘Modern Glam’ design language.

HTC clearly is the GALAXY S5’s closest competitor even though the former sells fewer handsets. The price tag again simply does not justify Samsung’s plasticy design when HTC’s metal-clad One M8 sells for around the same price.
