Leaked iPhone 6 Rear Panel Shows Cut Out For Notification Lamp

Will this be the first iPhone to sport a glowing Apple logo?

We had earlier suspected the presence of a notifications logo on the upcoming iPhone 6 long ago, and now with the final back cover of the device leaked, we are getting better picture. The leaked images of the 4.7 inch model of the iPhone 6 show the smooth matt-finished aluminium body of the device in space-grey with a clean cut out of the Apple logo on the rear.

The logo as reported earlier, seems to be there for the purpose of showing notifications. The Apple logo will probably glow in the white colour similar to the company’s MacBook line-up but will hopefully light up only for notifications. Also included on the sides are the volume controls and the power button which has now been shifted to the sides thanks to the height of the device.

It is rather a strange move because for the logo to be visible the device would indeed need to kept face down, which kind of hinders the age old tradition of viewing lock screen notifications on iOS. We have no clue what Apple is up to here, but it clearly seems that the company will indeed be adding new ways to keep track of notifications with the upcoming iPhone 6. Whether the notifications light idea is indeed practical or not, is a call only Apple will be taking for now.
