Amazon Schedules Its 3D Smartphone’s Launch Event For The 18th Of June
Sounds really path-breaking in the video, but what about the apps?

Amazon has released a teaser video requesting members of the press to apply for an invitation for its much-talked about 3D smartphone. The event it seems is scheduled for the 18th of June which is pretty close to Samsung’s GALAXY Premiere event if you ask us.
Earlier leaks and reports have pointed out that Amazon is working on a device that sports a unique 3D interface and supports gesture based controls. The smartphone which was a rumour until now will run a highly customised version of Google's Android, built on the Android Open Source Project. As reported earlier, the phone will come with six cameras - four located on the periphery of the screen for 3D tracking, a front facing camera, and a primary rear camera. The device will be similar to what we've seen on Amazon's Kindle Fire range of tablets, and apps will be available on the company's own mobile app store.
Talking about apps let’s hope that Amazon has a sufficient ecosystem in place as this usually is the deciding factor for new smartphone platforms. The Nokia X project is a clear cut example of how things can go wrong and how good hardware makes a vast difference in sales.
We guess there will be some kind of a parallax effect with background and layers in apps adjusting to the user’s behaviour and movements. Still then, apps or no apps the video below shows that the world is clearly eager to know what Amazon has up its sleeve.
