MapmyIndia Launches Freemium Maps Service With NaviMaps For Android
The company offers offline maps with minor limitations for free.
MapmyIndia has launched a new freemium app called NaviMaps which offers alternate routes and even lets you share real-time journey updates on social networks. The app also comes with offline maps and includes real time turn-by-turn voice guidance as well.
MapmyIndia being an Indian company, has indeed taken voice guidance to the next level by offering up 10 regional languages which include Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. The app also offers House Number Data, POI and 3D buildings; all of which comes via in-app purchases.
What you get for free includes the following:
- Three alternate routes to your destination and one pedestrian route
- Location, route sharing via Facebook, messages, email,
- Live Traffic with detailed MapmyIndia maps for whole of India with latest coverage
- Single line predictive destination search and Multi-stop Routing with Full multi-touch map display support
- Two-finger swipe down on any page or menu to return to map view and Straightforward menus and fast workflow
- Three days free trial for full version pro-guidance app
As you may have noticed there is not much that you would need beyond what already comes with the app. Still then if you do want the additional language support and offline maps for other countries you could purchase the same for Rs 600 which each additional offline map available for Rs 300.
