LG Takes The Wraps Off Its Flagship Smartphone the G3

But, is it too late to the game?

LG has announced its latest smartphone flagship, the LG G3. The device is easily one of the most eagerly-awaited smartphones this year all thanks to its game-changing specifications. The device is the second handset this year to be launched with a Quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 pixel density giving it a stunning 535ppi. But has all of this come in a bit too late?

If you ask us, the answer is a clear NO. The phone comes with a large 5.5 inch True HD IPS+ QHD display and sports a 13 megapixel camera with OIS. Also included in the camera package is laser-assisted auto-focus coupled with rich 4K video recording. Inside we find a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2/3GB of RAM and 16/32GB internal memory (both vary according to storage) which is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. The body of the device seems to be made out of plastic with a metallic finish. It looks quite premium in press images.

But is all of this a bit too late? With the addition of the Qi wireless charging and the QHD screen which will by all means slow the processor down a bit, there seems to be nothing new in here. Sony and HTC’s handsets offer a premium metal construction and sport the same processor specifications as the G3. A Snapdragon 805 would have certainly changed things for the Android buyers who are really worried about hardware specifications and device that should by all means be future proof.

The handset comes in White, Black, Gold along Red and Violet, which is similar to Sony's handsets . Also launched along with the handset were a range of accessories including the LG QuickCase Cover which should be available shortly. The case apart from providing added functionality without opening the flip cover also supports Qi wireless charging.
