Two Variants Of The Upcoming LG G3 Smartphone Pass Through The FCC

Yes, there will indeed be two versions of LG’s upcoming Flagship the G3.

With the launch date approaching, news about the LG G3 will be on the rise. The FCC has apparently received two variants of the LG G3. As per the long history of leaks that the flagship smartphone has seen, there was indeed some news about two variants of the device coming with different screen sizes and varying RAM capacities.

However that is not the case. The two devices that did hit the FCC, from what we can tell from the listings, somehow turned out to be two variants of the same device. The sizes of the devices are exactly the same so it is safe to say that there is just one LG G3 but with different radios.

The two models, D850 and D851 come with the exact same specifications but with different radios. The D850 supports LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, and 17, while the D851 supports LTE bands 2, 4, 7, and 17.

There is however one new feature that we did notice from the FCC filing. Both devices clearly mention wireless charging in the filing indicating that LG would indeed be bringing something new to the smartphone game after all. So far wireless charging was a feature that appeared only on the Verizon variant of the LG G2.
