Samsung GALAXY S5 Active Gets Confirmed, Appears In Long Demo Videos
Do we really need a tougher GALAXY S5?
The Samsung GALAXY S5 Active just got confirmed and that too in some long demo videos. The long-rumoured device has been showing up in multiple places online and lastly in Bluetooth SIG’s certification section. The device comes with a specification almost identical to the GALAXY S5 and even includes the heart-rate monitor but comes with a tougher and rugged construction.
The source apparently got the handset for a short while so went about making a video instead of tweeting about it in bits. The handset clearly looks the part when it comes to rugged all-weather devices, but also comes with the muscle and internals to go with it.
The handset is obviously the AT&T version of the handset, which is why it shows the model name as SM-G870A where the ‘A’ stands for the cellular operator. But the big question here is will we see an international variant of the same?
The international variant of the GALAXY S5 is pretty much capable of withstanding day-to-day bumps and water splashes which is enough protection if you ask us. Unless of course you happen to take part in extreme sports, like mountain-biking for example where the device will be exposed to a lot of shocks and bumps when mounted on bicycle handles. Moreover such a device can also be used in extreme weather conditions where severe cold often hampers performance and usually leaves devices non-functional.
Still then at the right price tag, the phone would indeed find buyers, especially which such flagship hardware internals.
