Samsung Galaxy S5 Sales Cross 11mn Units In The First Month
Now Samsung is supposedly going to flood the market with variants of the S5 to keep sales going.

Sales figures of Samsung's flagship Galaxy S5 have emerged, with the company selling 11 million units of the smartphone in the first month after its launch. According to the Wall Street Journal, first month sales of the S5 have bettered that of Samsung's previous flagship, the S4, by about 10 per cent.
The increase in sales should come as a sign of relief to Samsung, who recently posted declining profits for the second consecutive quarter. With the flagship smartphone space becoming more saturated, it however is getting harder for the company to hold on to its market share.
Competition from Google's line of Nexus phones and devices like Motorola's Moto X cannot be discounted, especially since they come in at a much lower cost. While the price of flagship smartphones seems to be reducing, Samsung seems to holding steady with its tried and tested market domination methods.
The WSJ report states that the company hopes to retain the sales momentum of the S5 by launching various variants of the phone. Rumours have already emerged of a more high-end variant of the phone, dubbed the Galaxy S5 Prime, which could sport a 4k resolution display and a full metal body.
Apart from this, Samsung could also be working on a cheaper Galaxy S5 Neo, and a more compact Galaxy S5 Mini. If true, these rumours fit perfectly with the way Samsung has functioned in the past, rolling out multiple variants of a single model in the hope to boost sales.
